SoftWave Therapy in Stonebridge, Saskatoon

When stubborn pain hangs on or a new injury needs to heal fast, SoftWave therapy can help you move forward. At Pawlovich Chiropractic, we meet you where you are and keep things simple and clear, with honest guidance and care.

How SoftWave Works

SoftWave uses a water-based applicator to deliver acoustic waves that compress and expand tissue at a cellular level, helping improve blood flow, reduce inflammation, and stimulate your body’s natural repair process, including activating its own healing cells. Rather than only managing symptoms, SoftWave is designed to promote recovery at the source.

Your first visit is a 30-minute Discovery Visit ($69) that includes a consultation, precise “mapping” of irritated areas, and an initial SoftWave session. This visit helps us determine if you are a good candidate while also starting the healing process. We take time to understand your condition and explain how this approach may help in your specific case.

During the mapping process, you may feel tenderness in areas that are irritated, while healthy tissue typically produces little to no sensation. Once identified, treatment is applied at a slightly higher therapeutic level to begin the healing process.

At the end of your visit, we will let you know if you are a candidate and, if appropriate, recommend a personalized treatment plan with clear expectations around timing, visits, and cost.

NEW PATIENTS

Who It’s For and What It Feels Like

SoftWave is well suited for chronic issues that have not responded to other care, as well as newer soft-tissue injuries where faster recovery is important. It works differently than many traditional approaches by helping stimulate healing within the tissue itself rather than only addressing symptoms.

It’s been particularly effective for areas like the shoulders and knees, which are often difficult to resolve, but it is also used across many joints and soft tissues throughout the body. During your visit, we will explain how treatment applies to your condition and what kind of response you may expect.

During the scan, irritated areas may feel tender while healthy tissue produces little to no sensation. Most patients describe the sensation as uncomfortable in certain spots, but not painful. Please wear clothing that allows for easy access for skin contact in the area being treated. SoftWave can be used on its own or in conjunction with chiropractic care. If we recommend combining approaches, we will explain how each part supports your recovery.

Conditions Commonly Treated

SoftWave has shown strong results for a range of chronic and acute conditions, especially those that have been difficult to resolve.

Common areas we treat include:

  • Shoulder and knee pain
  • Elbows, wrists, and hands, including carpal tunnel symptoms
  • Hips, low back, and neck issues
  • Ankles, feet, and Achilles tendon concerns
  • Sciatic-type pain, rib discomfort, and arthritic joints

Costs, Coverage, and Next Steps

Your recommended plan and number of visits depend on your specific findings, as there is no one-size-fits-all approach. SoftWave is not typically a one-time treatment, since it supports healing over a series of visits.

We will review timelines, visit fees, and how your health benefits may apply during your Discovery Visit. Many extended health plans partially or fully cover treatment, although we do not direct-bill for SoftWave.

Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect after my first visit?
You will leave your Discovery Visit knowing whether SoftWave is a good fit for your condition. If you are a candidate, we will recommend a treatment plan and explain what to expect over the course of care. Some patients notice early changes, while others improve more gradually as healing progresses.

How is SoftWave different from other treatments?

SoftWave works by stimulating repair within the tissue itself. The treatment helps improve blood flow, reduce inflammation, and activate your body’s natural healing response, which can make it effective for both chronic conditions and newer injuries.

When will I notice results?

Results vary from person to person. Some experience improvement quickly, while others notice changes over time. Healing often occurs in phases, depending on how long the issue has been present and its severity.

Is SoftWave covered by my health benefits?

Many extended health plans provide partial or full coverage. While we do not direct-bill, we provide documentation for reimbursement.

Am I a candidate if I have had a cortisone injection?

In most cases, yes, as long as your last injection was more than 30 days ago. We will review your history to confirm.

How new is this technology?

SoftWave is a German-engineered technology that has been more recently introduced in North America and continues to grow in clinical use. It’s also used by professional sports organizations to support recovery and performance, reflecting its role in modern rehabilitation.

Is SoftWave a one-time treatment?

No. It is typically delivered as a series of treatments based on your condition and goals, which we will outline clearly if you are a candidate.
